Sri Lanka's World Cup venues to be ready by next month

With venues for the four World Cup cricket matches to be played in Sri Lanka next year being finalised, the modification of some of the match venues is expected to be completed by the end of next month.
Two of the matches will be played at the Premadasa International Stadium and one each at the Asgiriya International Stadium and the other at the Sinhalese Sports Club grounds.
On February 17th, Sri Lanka will take on Australia at the Premadasa International Stadium followed by the match against Zimbabwe at Sinhalese Sports Club grounds on February 21.
On February 25, Sri Lanka will meet West Indies at Premadasa International Stadium and the final home match will be against Kenya at the Asgiriya International Stadium, Kandy on March 6.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has confirmed that it will host the next Asia Cup cricket tournament in Colombo in 1997.
India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will clash for honours in the four-nation tournament.This is the second time that Sri Lanka is hosting the Asia Cup limited over tournament having staged it in 1986. On that occasion Sri Lanka won its first ever international tournament when they beat Pakistan in the final under Duleep Mendis who is the present team manager.
