Fleming blames poor batting for loss

Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming said that his side "did not deserve to win this game" after their batsmen were out playing poor shots against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. "I must say the batting was below standards, considering the (batsmen's) experience," Fleming said after the match. "Some of the dismissals were truly out of character. It is not acceptable." He also said that the nine-run loss to Mumbai was a reality check and the Super Kings would back themselves to make things right in their next match against Kings XI Punjab on April 10.

Faulkner targets Gayle

James Faulkner, Tasmania allrounder, is part of Rajasthan Royals this season and has an eye on Chris Gayle, perhaps the most valuable wicket in the tournament. "It will definitely be Gayle," Faulkner told Times of India when asked who he'll be targeting. "I have got some rivalry going on with him. He'll try to hit me out of the ground and I'll try to pick up his wicket. Different teams have different plans but I am not sure bowling wide to him in these conditions is a good idea." Faulkner and Gayle have played each other in the Big Bash League. Gayle has scored 11 runs from 11 balls off Faulkner, but has been dismissed once. The teams face off on April 20.

Knight Riders trio recovering from stomach bug

According to a report in the Telegraph, Jacques Kallis, L Balaji, and Brett Lee, all key players for Kolkata Knight Riders, are recovering from a stomach bug. Knight Riders play Royals next on April 8 in Jaipur.

Chand reprimanded

Unmukt Chand, the Delhi Daredevils batsman, was found guilty of breaching the IPL's clothing regulations during the game against Rajasthan Royals. He was reprimanded after he "he violated article 2.1.1 of the Code of Conduct for a breach of paragraph 4.2 of the IPL Clothing Regulations."
