Submitting letters to The Editor Please write to: Readers Write, The Oldie, 65 Newman Street, London W1T 3EG or e-mail your letters to letters@theoldie.co.uk. When emailing, please include your postal address.

Submitting letters to Dear Mavis Please write to: Dear Mavis, The Oldie, 65 Newman Street, London W1T 3EG, or e-mail your letter to dearmavis@theoldie.co.uk. Mavis regrets that she is unable to enter into personal correspondence.

Submitting cartoons All cartoons should be sent for the attention of: Richard Ingrams The Oldie, 65 Newman Street, London W1T 3EG. Please make sure that your name and address is on the back of each cartoon. Enclosing an SAE is essential if you wish to have your work returned. We receive an enormous amount of cartoons each week, so replying can sometimes take over a month. Please DO NOT fax or e-mail unsolicited cartoons.

Submitting Diary stories We always welcome interesting stories for inclusion in The Old Un's Diary. Please send material to The Old Un's Diary, The Oldie, 65 Newman Street, London W1T 3EG. Short pieces can also be e-mailed direct to diary@theoldie.co.uk

Submitting articles for consideration We are happy to consider unsolicited articles on any subject. We do not commission articles from ideas or treatments, only from assessing finished work. Articles should be between 600 and 1,800 words in length, typed, double-spaced, and accompanied by an SAE. Please send to: Jeremy Lewis, Features Editor, The Oldie, 65 Newman Street, London W1T 3EG. If you live abroad then please feel free to submit via email to jeremylewis@theoldie.co.uk. Response will be in writing, and usually takes three to six weeks.

We are particularly interested in unsolicited pieces for our I Once Met, Anorak and Olden Life slots, although well-written articles on any subject are always welcome. We do occasionally publish short stories, although not more than two or three a year. If photographs or illustrations accompany your piece, please send copies and not originals. We will contact you if we need to use originals for reproduction purposes. The Oldie cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of any unsolicited materials.

Please note that we do not accept poetry.

A word about e-mail... Please try to avoid sending correspondence as attached files - typing or copying and pasting directly into the e-mail is the best way of ensuring that we receive what you send. Please remember to include your full name and address on your e-mails. We are not interested in receiving 'funny' e-mail circulars, 'Jokes of the day' or virus warnings. We never publish anything from these sources, we have usually heard them before, and the virus warnings are always hoaxes.
