Dr David Young, the Melbourne-based orthopedic surgeon, will see Tamim on Monday, after which the next course of action will be decided. Tamim had suffered the injury during his team Legends of Rupganj's Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League's first-phase matches earlier this month.

"Tamim will fly for Melbourne on Friday and is expected to consult Dr Young on Monday," Chowdhury said. "We will decide on the best possible management of the injury according to the advice of Dr Young.

"He is a very important player for us and with the World Cup just two months away our priority is to get him fit in the shortest possible time. However, it is also equally important to ensure that the recovery and rehab is not hurried."

Tamim is expected to miss Rupganj's Super League campaign.
