Preparations for the World Cup qualifiers are hotting up in Dar es Salaam, with 11 players of the Tanzania women's team starting residential training at the Muhimbili Cricket Academy. The qualifiers themselves will be held in Nairobi, Kenya in December.

The chairman of the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA), Zully Rehemtullah, has confirmed that the girls are in good shape ahead of the warm-up matches. "The team would undergo intensive training to shape up for the event," Rehemtullah told The Daily News, a Tanzanian paper, "which is the country's first event to compete to compete in."

Nine more girls are expected to join the team soon.
