Friendly foes

In tennis, the rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal has been uncompromising on the court and generous and friendly off it. In cricket, Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne have been much the same. They wouldn't give an inch on the field, but couldn't say enough good things about each other off it.

"I'll be going to bed having nightmares of Sachin just running down the wicket and belting me back over the head for six," Warne joked after their encounter in Sharjah in 1998.
