The injured duo of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have decided to give the forthcoming tri-nation tournament in Dhaka a miss.
Both Tendulkar and Dravid, who are nursing finger injuries, have written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) requesting that they be allowed time to recuperate.
"Their requests will be placed before the selection committee slated to meet in Mumbai on April 2," BCCI secretary SK Nair said.
Among the others who are expected to sit out the tournament are medium-pacer Ashish Nehra, who is slated to undergo an operation in South Africa for his ankle injury, and Javagal Srinath and Anil Kumble. Kumble, in fact, has already expressed his unavailibility, citing "personal reasons".
Sourav Ganguly too is reportedly keen on a break but it seems unlikely that his request will be considered.
