However, when this highly-talented tenor opened his mouth and sang an impromptu `Nessun Dorma', the whole of the ground, including the cricketers warming up on the outfield, broke into spontaneous applause, in appreciation of a man with a serious talent.

Ted Jackson was at The Rose Bowl to promote the weekend of live concerts at The Rose Bowl on the 30th and 31st August.

The classical concert on the Sunday will be a rite of passage for Ted since this will be his first major live concert. "To sing with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in such an amazing venue, is positively awesome," he said. "It's more than a dream come true, since who could have possibly dreamt that all this could have happened to me in the last year."

Currently recording his first album, Ted Jackson is expected to repeat this morning's rendition of Nessum Dorma at the concert - though next time with the backing of a full orchestra!

Tickets for both the classical concert and the pop concert, which stars Blue, Darius, Sinead and others, are £24 per ticket per concert (including booking fee), and can be obtained from the Ticket Hotline: 0871 222 3943.
