The case of the missing Test cap

Has anybody seen Graeme Smith’s Test cap

Has anybody seen Graeme Smith’s Test cap? Do turn up at Kingsmead if you have, or find him on Twitter. This is the same cap he wore on his Test debut, and has been wearing in Tests ever since. It wasn’t even close to becoming the shaggy green that Steve Waugh used to wear. Needless to say, Smith holds it very dearly, and last saw it in Centurion. One fine moment today, he realised it was not in its rightful place, and let the world know at 2.10 pm through Twitter, where reaction has been immediate. One user has offered a lamb as reward, and another – my personal favourite response - has suspected Clive Rice of the despicable act.

Smith, though, has ruled out team pranks, has obviously checked his luggage and hotel room and all. Many times. He has so far been busy at the nets, and hasn’t had time to launch a proper investigation. A personal bit of advice, though: if I had the cap, I would find him rather than him finding me. They don't call him Biff for nothing.

PS - Good news for Smith as the missing cap was found and returned to him. Smith revealed the news via Twitter on Boxing Day.
