Details of the draw and dates for the matches are expected to be released early next month.
"This is absolutely fantastic news for The Rose Bowl" says Chairman Rod Bransgrove. "It places our magnificent ground right at the heart of international cricket in this country. Now that, The Rose Bowl is recognised as a top venue on the World stage we have to maintain the highest standards".
"The ground has come a long way in a short space of time and this accolade reflects well on everyone who has been involved in its development".
"Things like this don't just happen. They result from a lot of hard work put in by a lot of people. These efforts have combined to ensure that the pitch and the supporting facilities are of the requisite standard to stage major international cricket. As well as staff, supporters and sponsors we are particularly grateful for the support shown to us by Eastleigh Borough Council".
The Rose Bowl is already the stage for the match between West Indies and New Zealand in the NatWest Series on 8th July. Hampshire Cricket moved to The Rose Bowl only three years ago and hosted their first international last July when South Africa beat Zimbabwe in the NatWest Series.
