The Sri Lankans should go home where their hearts must surely lie. Nobody should be forced to play a game at such a time.

How on earth can a team concentrate on cricket while their fans are dying of starvation and drowning?
Akila Amarathunga

This is like a school principal forcing a schoolboy to play cricket when there's big funeral at his home.
Hiran Liyanage

Can we cheer for a team having lost more than 13,000 lives?
Dinesh Asanka

How can a team representing their country play cricket while their relatives, friends and all their fellow countrymen are coping with a disaster that has devastated their motherland and neighbouring countries?
Sisira Ilangamage

With respect to the Sri Lankan tour of New Zealand, not only should the Sri Lankan players be allowed to go home, they ought to be sent home - with the blessing and concrete financial support of the ICC and as witnesses to the solidarity of the international cricket-loving community.
Stefan Gigacz

Is it sensible to think that your mates back home are crying for their loved ones and you are enjoying playing a game? With the enormous amount of cricket being played these days, nobody is going to miss anything.
Kashif

How much help can the Sri Lankan cricketers realistically provide by going home? I think they can certainly help to lift their nation's spirit by playing good cricket and giving their homeland something to cheer about. Lara and his team did the same thing for the Caribbean islands struck by Hurricane Ivan.
Thaddeus Bruno

Nobody in the cricketing world is going to blame for the Sri Lankan cricketers if they decided to go home now because they would have taken that decision with a clear conscious.
Sunil

The whole of Sri Lanka is cricket-crazy and for them to see their heroes back home helping the Sri Lankan people will do more good then a now empty tour of New Zealand.
Ricky Bartlett

Motivation and encouragement is what our country needs and the best form of encouragement is through cricket. People in rural areas save up for months in order to go and watch a match, to go and see their heroes. It's about time that cricketers returned the favour: now is the time when they really need them.
Sanji

It's horrendous to read that the SL tour of NZ will continue despite the devastating situation prevailing in SL. It looks like money is everything these days and there is no regard what so ever for humanity. How on earth can one play cricket when thousands of countrymen were killed and left homeless?
Roshan Jinadasa

It would be much more appropriate if these matches were held later, or deferred, and the proceedings used for the relief funds set up in Sri Lanka.
Rajarshi Sengupta

Continuing the tour is not going to do any god for the Sri Lankans as their heart and minds will be in Sri Lanka and the people who were affected by the tsunamis.
