Thilanga Sumathipala re-elected as new BCCSL President

Thilanga Sumathipala was elected as the new President of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) today,at the board elections held at the Ministry of Sports An elected President was chosen for the governing body of cricket in Sri Lanka after a Lapse of two years.The administrative functions of the BCCSL during this period were carried out by two interim Committees appointed by two different Ministers of Sports since early 2001

Thilanaga Sumathipala, is currently the Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom -the premier telecommunication provider in Sri Lanka. Sumithipala, whose vision and commitment to Sri Lankan cricket has been well recognized before, will be backed by a competent and experienced Executive Committee who will drive the vision to reality in the upcoming year.
