2007-08 HKCA Saturday League
Players had to cope with hot and hazy conditions on Saturday, but the weather didn't seem to affect Butt Hussain and Bijur Tanmay as they both blasted centuries for HKU who thrashed CCC by a whopping 268 runs at the Sandy Bay ground. Looking in ominous form at the beginning of the season, HKU amassed 335-4 against the hapless CCC attack. CCC had no answer to Tahir Khan (4-14) and Zar Khan (3-15) as they succumbed to 87 all out in reply.
In a derby match at Kowloon Cricket Club, Tartars scored their second victory of the season as they beat Saracens by five wickets. Saracens could only manage a total of 160 with Dyutish Chaudhuri top scoring with 57 as Moazzam Ayub grabbed wickets for Tartars. In reply, Anoop Nainani (63*) and Ghulam Mustafa (43*) shared an unbroken partnership to lift Tartars to victory. Darren Farr was the best of the bowlers for Saracens, claiming three wickets.
At Hong Kong Cricket Club, Witherers scored a six wicket victory over the Hong Kong Under-19's. Sean Robson grabbed five wickets as Hong Kong Under-19's were dismissed for 185 in their innings with Adel Khan (43) and Waqas Barkat (39) making the most significant contributions. In reply, Phil Pemberton hit a half-century and Mark Fuzes and Mark Ferguson made useful scores as Witherers eased to victory for the loss of only four wickets.
At Mission Road, St George's scored their a comprehensive eight wicket victory over SCC Vampires. Muhammad Rehman grabbed four wickets and Waqar Dawood claimed three as SCC Vampires were skittled for just 83 runs. Mohammad Azam hit an unbeaten 31 in reply as St George's on 87-2.
There was another low scoring match at Po Kong Village Road where Kai Tak beat Mainlanders by seven wickets. Mohsen Naqvi claimed 3-10 as Mainlanders were dismissed for just 85 and Kai Tak had little trouble posting their first victory of the season with Tiku Patidar stroking 48.

2007-08 HKCA Sunday League
The first round of the 2007-08 HKCA Sunday League kicked off in sensational fashion on 17th September with Millennium CC claiming a shock one wicket victory over Pakistan Association.
In the second low scoring match of the weekend at Mission Road, Pakistan Association were dismissed for just 95 off 26 overs with Ahmad Imran claiming the impressive figures of 6-15 in a devastating six over spell. If Millennium CC thought the game was won, they were made to think again as the Pakistan Association bowlers exacted their revenge. Inderjeet Singh grabbed three wickets but his efforts were in vain as Millennium CC scrapped home off the first ball of the 30th over with their last pair at the crease.
There was an even lower scoring match played at Po Kong Village Road where Little Sai Wan thrashed Sri Lanka CC by ten wickets. Batting first, the Sri Lankans were routed for just 56 in 27.2 overs with Munir Dar grabbing 3-8. Little Sai Wan needed only 6.5 overs to reach their victory target with Zain Abbas hitting an unbeaten 41.
Defending Sunday League champions kicked off the defense of their title with an easy six wicket victory over Vagabonds at Hong Kong Cricket Club. Vagabonds batted first but they could only a total of 224 in 46 overs with Sher Lama (68) and G Prashant (37) making the most significant scores, while Mark Fuzes grabbed four wickets. In reply, Optimists only needed 30.1 overs to race to victory, with Ben Hart scoring the first century of the Sunday League competition with 114 while Mark Eames hit 56.

2007-08 HKCA Women's League
In the HKCA Women's League, Lamma scored a comfortable 119 run victory over LSW at the Po Kong Village Road # 2 ground. Lamma batted first and they posted an impressive 187-2 from their 35 overs with Sam Mcilwrath retiring on 34 and Neisha Pratt finishing unbeaten on 64 not out. LSW's run chase failed to gain much momentum and they could only muster a total of 68 in reply.
