Mr Sisulu was highly revered by the UCBSA as a person who dedicated his life for a struggle that ultimately brought freedom to all South Africans.

His sacrifices, vision and strength were vital contributions that made it possible for South Africans to become part of the world family of cricket, and to be in a position to host the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.

All cricket-loving people, and indeed, all South Africans, owe an everlasting debt of gratitude to Mr Sisulu, who rose from humble beginnings to the leadership that chartered a new course of South African and world history by defeating racial tyranny against all the odds.

Mr Sisulu's humility, courage and commitment to non-racial democracy remain a beacon for us and the generations to come.
