The day finished with an exciting match as Vanuatu battled with PNG in the top of the table clash. PNG batted first and set a very competitive total of 6/109. The Vanuatu run chase started badly as PNG took early wickets, they were 2/4 after the first over .
They then settled to reach 32 after 5 overs, but then lost another two quick wickets. When Patrick Matautava went out for 33, the score was at 6/86 in the twelfth over and it was anyone's game. PNG only had to take one more wicket to win and Vanuatu still had 24 runs, but plenty of overs in hand. Victor and Jelani looked sharp at the wicket and were making steady runs. Vanuatu hit the winning runs in the 18th over and the team ran on to the field to celebrate.
Cook Islands had a strong win over Japan in their afternoon match. Japan batted first and had some solid partnerships before they were bowled out for 54. Cook Islands were in good batting form reaching the target in 10 overs, 4/58. Hugh Henry made 16 at the top of the batting order and Daniel Matara finished it off with 17 not out. The Japanese bowlers all took a wicket each.
Samoa took on Tonga in their afternoon and were looking to add to the points they won in the morning match. Tonga had other ideas. Samoa were sent into bat and were under pressure right from the start. Tonga had them all out for 33 in 8 overs. Chris Misiuata was the only batsmen to show any resistance making a solid 15. Similar to the Cook Islands run chase it only took Tonga 10 overs to reach their target, 4/34. Tiafala Paione took 2/6 for Samoa.
