Vincent was recalled to the Black Caps to play the last three one-dayers against India and will retain the wicket-keeping gloves for the Aces. So far this season in the State Shield he has seven catches and a stumping.

Tim McIntosh is the only newcomer to the Aces squad. Last week the Parnell left-hander scored an impressive 157 in a four-day State Championship match against the State Otago Volts.

Young all-rounder Sam Whiteman was not considered due to injury, whilst Black Caps Andre Adams and Kyle Mills will be rested for this fixture, at the request of New Zealand Cricket.

Both Adams and Mills are likely to play in the Aces' next game, against the State Central Stags at Pukekura Park in New Plymouth on Sunday. Two squad members will be omitted following the Wellington fixture to allow for their return.

The team to play State Wellington Firebirds, 17 January 2003 (televised: Sky Sport, start time: 12 noon) is:

Brooke Walker (captain)
Aaron Barnes
Tama Canning
Heath Davis
Matt Horne
Llorne Howell
Tim McIntosh
Rob Nicol
