Warne denied access to Victoria season launch

The realities of the full impact of the drug ban imposed on Shane Warne by Cricket Australia were further hit home last week. Warne was banned from attending Cricket Victoria's season launch on Friday. He had just returned from Europe.

Cricket Victoria checked with Cricket Australia on relative issues concerning Warne's ban and their operations manager Shaun Graf told the Australian newspaper that it was deemed Warne was not allowed to be involved with anything that could benefit him, whether with his state, his club or his country.

"It's really on Shane's behalf and to make sure no one gets into any strife," Graf said. Warne is banned until February for having taken diuretic pills.
