Watkin receives Merit Award

Steve Watkin`s wonderful contribution to Glamorgan C.C.C. was recognised last night when the county`s former seam bowler was presented with the Merit Award at the BBC Welsh Sports Personality of the Year Awards ceremony for 2002 at a packed St.David`s Hall in Cardiff.

Steve, who retired at the end of the 2001 season, is the first cricketer to receive this prestigious award in recognition of a lifetime`s achievement and outstanding performances in Welsh sport
