West Indies seek cover for Chanderpaul

West Indies were today expected to call up Ricardo Powell or Chris Gayle to replace the injured Shivnarine Chanderpaul on their unhappy tour of Australia.

Just weeks after recovering from a bruised forearm that forced him to miss a large part of the England tour last summer, Chanderpaul now has a stress fracture in his foot.

Treatment will be carried out in Australia and while he may return to the squad if the injury heals, the West Indies management are set to name a replacement for the remaining three matches in the five Test series.
