WI local:BDF are cricket champs

It's going to be a Merry Christmas for the soldiers this year. For the second straight year, the lads from the Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme have won the Intermediate Premier League cricket competition, the top prize in junior cricket.

The soldiers, a collection of some of the island's most talented Under-23 players, came of age when they defeated powerhouses Oran Bristol by eight wickets at the Police Sports Club yesterday.
