Having won the inaugral trophy last year in Barbados, the defending champions are currently unbeaten in the land of the hummingbird.

Barbados easily won the One-day encounter on Wednesday when they defeated the home team by five wickets.

Barbados scored 78 runs for five wickets in reply to the 77 runs in 38.4 overs made by Trinidad. Top scorer for Trinidad was Jeewan Ramroop with 12 while Anand Rampersad scored 11.

Off-spinner Jed Yearwood took three wickets for eight runs from his six overs of off-spin, while pacers Kevin Mc Clean and Kevin Callender took one for 15 and one for 8 respectively. Leg spinner Shamar Brooks also took one for 8.

Barbados overtook the hosts in 28.2 overs with captain Krisnan Hurdle scoring 13, Jed Yearwood 12(retired hurt), Redon Toppin 10 not out and Shamar Brooks 10.

For Trinidad, Jewan Ramroop took 2 for 16 with his tidy medium pace and spinner Akil Timothy 2 for 11.

In the second encounter-a two day game-Trinidad occupied the crease for almost the entire day, to score a meagre 121 from 86 overs.

Ramroop was again the top scorer for Trinidad with 24, while Javid Mohammed and Christopher Sankar got 19 each.

Antonio Sargeant was the main wicket-taker with five for 18. Shamar Brooks got two for 19, Jed Yearwood one for 14, Redon Toppin one for 10 and Jonathan Carter one for 7.

In the other games played, Barbados defeated South East Trinidad at Penal in a rain-affected low scoring encounter.

Winning the toss, Barbados sent in the Trinidadians to bat and skittled them out for 25 runs in 27 overs.

Antonio Sargeant took 2 wickets for 1 run, Toppin 2 for 4, Charleon Brome 2 for 6 and Kevin Callender 2 for 7.
