- Tom Moody is out of Australia's squad for the Wills International Cup following a knee injury suffered during the Mercantile Mutual Cup match for WA against South Australia on Sunday. Queensland's Andrew Symonds will replace Moody in the team. Symonds, a regular member of Australian A team and Super 8 squads, has yet to appear in a full one-day international. Symonds, along with West Australian players Damien Martyn, Brendon Julian and Adam Gilchrist, will leave Brisbane for Dhaka on Sunday following Saturday's conclusion of the Sheffield Shield match between Queensland and WA at the Gabba.
- Graeme Hick has been named vice-captain of the England team for the oneday series.
