Australia v South Africa, 2014-15
Wisden's review of the third Twenty20 International, Australia v South Africa, 2014-15
At Sydney (Stadium Australia), November 9, 2014 (floodlit). Australia won by two wickets. Toss: Australia.
An experimental Australia side claimed the series in slightly untidy fashion, on a sluggish pitch and in front of an Olympic Stadium just a third full. Australia wobbled more than once, first allowing de Kock and Hendricks to share their only meaningful stand of the series, then stuttering throughout
their pursuit of a gettable 146. But South Africa were unable to take the opportunities presented to them, and helped the Australians on their way with eight wides. Kyle Abbott had his namesake Sean lbw, leaving two needed from three balls, but White's composure saw Australia home - not that he
could persuade the selectors to extend his presence to the one-day side.
Man of the Match: C. L. White. Man of the Series: J. P. Faulkner.
