England v West Indies
Wisden's review of the second ODI, England v West Indies
At Nottingham, September 21 (day/night). No result. Toss: West Indies.
Only 14 legal balls were possible before low-lying cloud cover burst open to send the players scurrying off, though not until England had hinted at another run-fest at the venue where they had battered a world-record 444 against Pakistan the previous summer. The game was abandoned at 4.15, though a 20-over match could have begun as late as 5.56. The eventual appearance of the September sun led some to query whether the decision had been premature.
