Zimbabwe v Afghanistan, 2015-16
Wisden's review of the first ODI, Zimbabwe v Afghanistan, 2015-16
First one-day international At Bulawayo, October 16, 2015. Zimbabwe won by eight wickets. ‡Afghanistan 122 (34.1 overs) (L. M. Jongwe 3-16, W. P. Masakadza 4-21, T. S. Chisoro 3-16); Zimbabwe 126-2 (23.2 overs) (R. Mutumbami 30, C. J. Chibhabha 58). MoM: W. P. Masakadza. ODI debut: T. S. Chisoro (Zimbabwe).
Afghanistan hit early trouble when seamer Luke Jongwe nipped out both openers in his third over, and the slips were given plenty of work; Craig Ervine finished with four catches. Mohammad Shahzad's brief rally was ended when he swung across a straight one from Wellington Masakadza, whose fellow slow left-armer Chisoro collected three wickets on debut on a helpful surface. Dawlat Zadran's hitting helped lift the total, but Richmond Mutumbami set the chase on course with an enterprising knock.
