Zimbabwe v India, 2016
Wisden's review of the third Twenty20 International, Zimbabwe v India, 2016
Third Twenty20 international At Harare, June 22, 2016. India won by three runs. India 138-6 (20 overs) MoM: K. M. Jadhav. MoS: B. B. Sran.
Another awkwardly slow surface made timing difficult but produced a low scoring thriller - which nearly led to a home series win. Chigumbura needed four off the final ball, from Sran, but was caught at cover off a wide full toss. Somehow Zimbabwe, nervously prodding
and poking, seemed half a dozen runs behind the rate throughout the chase. Only when they required 32 from the final two overs did they show much urgency: Timycen Maruma hit Bumrah for six, then managed another in the final over. But Sran, defending 21, could afford to bowl a wide and a noball and concede 17. After Zimbabwe put India in, Kedar Jadhav's composed 58 from 42 balls offset the loss of three wickets in the first five overs.
