ADELAIDE - South Australian spin bowler Brad Young will miss the rest of the cricket season after suffering a severe knee injury.
Young, 27, damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee when he changed direction during a game of handball while training with the Redbacks squad in Sydney.
He will remain in Sydney to undergo reconstructive surgery on Tuesday. SA was due to play New South Wales in a Pura Cup match starting on Wednesday but the match was abandoned today without a ball being bowled after persistent rain.
The sides are scheduled to meet in a one-day clash at North Sydney Oval on Sunday.
