Youngsters descend on Samoa!

Juniors from seven International Cricket Council (ICC) East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Member countries will arrive in Samoa next week in preparation for the ICC EAP U15 Cricket 8's to be held from 26 February - 3 March, 2007.

The tournament, hosted by Samoa English Cricket Association, will bring together talented youngsters from Fiji, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands and Vanuatu for an 8-a-side round robin competition to be staged at Samoa Gardens Ovals, Apia.

There will be six 20-over innings matches each day, with one rest day, over the week long event. Finals will be played on the afternoon of Saturday 3 March. First-up matches on day one are Fiji v Japan Tonga v Papua New Guinea and Samoa v Vanuatu, Cook Islands have the bye.

The tournament will be officially launched on Sunday 25th February by the Prime Minister of Samoa, the Hon Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi MP, at Tofamamao Cultural Centre from 7:00pm.
