Zimbabwe pounded Bangladesh by nine wickets after Bangladesh were dismissed for 91 in 42.5 overs at Colin Maiden Park in Auckland.

Hasibul Haoq's 17 and Mohammad Ashraful's 15 were the highest score on a disappointing scoreboard.

Zimbabwe captain Tatenda Taibu demonstrated his versatility yet again by starting out wicket-keeping, taking the pads off and bowling five overs to take three for eight.

Stanley Marisa bowled 10 overs, five of them maidens, and took two for 16.

It is not many one-day games that produce 11 maidens but that is what the Zimbabwe bowlers achieved.

Zimbabwe wasted no time with the bat. They polished off the 92 runs in 14.2 overs with Charles Coventry hitting 51 off 35 balls while Brendon Taylor scored 22 not out and Taibu was there at the end for 11 not out.

Just who they will each play in the semi-finals on Monday and Wednesday will be decided after tomorrow's games.
