Zimbabwe v India 1998-99
At Harare, September 30
At Harare, September 30. Zimbabwe won by 37 runs. Toss: India.
The return of Brandes after illness inspired an unexpected home win. Zimbabwe were put in again after Azharuddin won his ninth consecutive toss for India; this time Campbell fell quickly, but Wishart, after struggling early on, broke the shackles to record his first international century: he faced 124 balls and hit four fours and two sixes. The turning point came when Tendulkar dropped Andy Flower at slip before he had scored; after that, Zimbabwe steadily took control. Brandes and Streak bowled with fire and purpose, and the Indians never recovered from the early loss of two prime wickets.
Man of the Match: C. B. Wishart. Man of the Series: S. R. Tendulkar.
