The father of Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi, Khobai Isakhel, has been kidnapped on the outskirts of Jalalabad in the eastern province of Nangarhar on Tuesday.

"Yesterday at around 10.00 am, unknown armed man seized him [Isakhel] from his car," Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, a spokesman for the Nangarhar provincial government, told AFP. "No trace of him has yet been found."

Nabi said the kidnappers had not yet made contact with him and he had no idea about their identity.

It's really very pitiful . I am feeling very sad for Mohammad Nabi .He is a wonderful player and a jolly person .I wonder how could one do this to him .He claims that he has no enmity with anybody and he isn't a millionaire either so that one might abduct his father and ask him for the ransom . Our sorrow and sympathy are with you dear captain .

Oh dear God! cant imagine the distress and sadness family must be going through. These incidents are not uncommon in the area though. Hope he returns home safely and the family enjoys reunion soon.

Very sad news, highlights what Afghan cricketers must endure to be in the public eye. Hope his father is returned safely, but in that part of the world one never knows.
