Guyana Amazon Warriors 107 for 3 (Dilshan 39) beat Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel 103 (Cooper 27, Dilshan 2-14, Santokie 2-20) by 7 wickets
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Given that they made the semi-finals on the back of three successive wins, the Trinidad & Tobago Red Steels would have backed themselves to qualify for the final of another T20 competition. Their star-studded batting line-up, however, let them down badly, paving the way for Guyana Amazon Warriors to enter the final of the first Caribbean Premier League.

Guyana chose to bowl first and opened with Krishmar Santokie and Tillarakaratne Dilshan. The pair were immediately effective - Dilshan dismissed Kevin O'Brien in the second over, while Santokie's slower delivery had Mahela Jayawardene lob a simple catch to Ramnaresh Sarwan at cover.

Having softened T&T up, Sarwan, the Guyana captain, then brought two of his most experienced bowlers into the attack. Lasith Malinga and Sunil Narine came on for just one over each but further stifled the struggling batsmen, conceding only six runs between them. The pressure got to Ross Taylor, who fell trying to attempt a slog over deep midwicket.

The misery continued for T&T and they found themselves at 32 for 5 in the ninth over and they slid to 56 for 6 before a crucial 45-run seventh-wicket partnership between Dwayne Bravo and Kevon Cooper brought some semblance of respectability back into the innings. Their stand also managed to lift the run rate and take the score past 100. The end of T&T's innings, however, seemed to mirror the start. Cooper was out at the end of the 18th over for a 17-ball 27. Sulieman Benn departed in the next over for a duck and Malinga, bowling the last over of the match, dismissed Bravo and Fidel Edwards off successive deliveries to wrap-up the innings for 103.

In spite of the early wicket of Lendl Simmons, Guyana were hardly troubled in the chase. Tillakaratne Dilshan, having finished with bowling figures of 2 for 14, anchored the Guyana reply with a 29-ball 39, which included three fours and a six. T&T's bowlers did manage to take two more wickets but it hardly improved their chances, as Guyana eased past the target with 22 balls to spare.

Congrats to the Amazon Warriors for a job well executed!! But it must be said that these are mixed up teams from different parts of the Caribbean as well as other parts of the world. They happened to be based in Guyana!!! The side constitutes 4 TRINIDADIANS WHO WERE PART OF THE T&T team which competed in the T20 Championships and the same team T&T that will be playing in the T20 Championship against IPL teams next month !!!

Sarwan's captaincy has been stellar throughout this tournament. He uses his bowlers extremely well. In earlier matches he saved his best bowlers for last couple of overs late when he knew that the opposition would have to target somebody to get some runs. This match he had Santokie and Malinga, 2 of the best, bowling at the end. Now, he may not knock the ball around like the younger guys, but Sarwan is excellent at keeping an end while rotating the strike and giving his big hitting batters a chance to excel as he did with Hafeez in the previous match and again last night with Dilshan and Franklin. He is underrated as a captain, having won the inaugural Stanford T/20 and another T/20 tournament with Guyana, which was arguably the 2nd best team behind Trinidad. Now, I would like to see a couple of experienced overseas test players playing for each team in our domestic competition. That would help WI cricket a lot. Go Warriors!!

Santokie again was pick of bowlers to get main man Jayawardener but boy Guyana has the best T20 bowling line up of all time, Santokie ! Malinga ! Narine ! backed up by Permaul and Dilshan . . . good luck to any batsman v that haha. I feel a weak T&T is not good for CPL taking both big names Pollard n Narine and others like SImmons Perkins must be hard to take for Trinis especially when there overseas failed to really show up other than O'Brien. I hope fans will still come out to make a great atmosphere for remaining Semi and Final even though their side is out. I guess they can support the Trinis on remaining sides as well as enjoy the Gayle show !

The tittle should go as "The Sri Lankans rock the Caribbean Party " :) A fantastic win for Guyana to secure their spot in the grand finale and some match winning performance by Dilshan n Slinga Malinga. Well, All Bravo's big talks about how to tackle Slinga Malinga and blah blah blah meant nothing at the end. lol He lost his very wicket to Malinga too . lol Guyana did an awesome job with team selection. They lost 2 guns n acquired 2 Sri Lankan cannons. Dilscoops for sixes n toe crushing yorkers.. boy these Sri lankans know how to spice it up. The crowd must be loving it. G'luck !!
