285Peter May's 285 is the highest score by an England captain in Tests against West Indies. Len Hutton is in second and third position, for his 205 and 169, which were both made in the 1954 series. Michael Vaughan, however, holds the record for the most centuries scored by an England captain (4) against West Indies.
