Bangladesh A 166 for 6 (Kayes 62, Buck 3-22) beat England Lions 155 for 7 (Maynard 68) by 11 runs Scorecard
Bangladesh A squared the T20 series against England Lions, to end their tour with defeat as Bangladesh won by 11 runs in Mirpur. Batting first, Imrul Kayes' 62 at the top of the order provided great impetus for the hosts to set the Lions more than eight runs an over to win. Kayes struck five fours and three sixes in his 47-ball innings before he was run out by Alex Hales.
Bangladesh kept up the momentum provided by Kayes with contributions from Jahurul Islam, who made 27 from 20 balls, and Alok Kapali, 23 from 20 balls before he became Nathan Buck's third wicket. Buck's 3 for 22 had dragged things back well for the Lions but Sabbir Rahman blasted 24 from 11 balls to end the innings with a flourish.
The Lions' reply began in the worst possible fashion as Jason Roy was bowled first ball. Alex Hales was then run out for one as England slipped to 3 for 2. It was 14 for 3 when Jonny Bairstow went for 5 before the Lions mounted a recovery. Tom Maynard and captain James Taylor added 87 for the fourth wicket before Maynard was bowled for 68 from 52 balls. His departure, after nine fours and a six, heralded the end of the Lions' chase as Taylor fell soon after for a 36-ball 43.

Posted by rivernile on (January 23 2012, 15:25 PM GMT)Way to go Tigers!! Although Bangladesh A has quite a few players who are part time national players (I don't believe that England A has any from the national side), I will still take the victory.
Posted byGood to see Kayes is back in form.I wish he will continue his good domastic form to the international level. We need a decent opener like him along with Tamim at the top of the order.
