ACB Chairman's XI squad released

The Chairman of the Australian Cricket Board (ACB) Mr Bob Merriman today named the following players to take part in the ACB Chairman's XI match against the South Africans at Lilac Hill Park on Wednesday 5 December:

The playing conditions for the match have been amended to allow all players in both the ACB Chairman's XI and South African squads to take part at some stage, although only eleven players will be allowed to bat and only eleven members of the fielding side will be on the ground during play.

The match is a 50 overs-a-side contest and is scheduled to start at 10.30.

Following the match at Lilac Hill, the South Africans will play a four-day match against Western Australia at the WACA ground starting on Friday 7 December.

It will then contest three Orange Test matches with Australia, in Adelaide (14 - 18 December), Melbourne (26 - 30 December) and Sydney (2- 6 January, 2002).
