Ben Cliff made his List A debut for Yorkshire against Northamptonshire in August 2022, having cut his teeth in the county's twos, where his 15 wickets in eight appearances helped to claim the Second XI Championship. He was drafted into the England Under-19 World Cup squad in the Caribbean as an injury replacement and went on to take two wickets in a pair of Test appearances against Sri Lanka later in 2022.
