Denis Evers was a right-hand batsman who played for Worcestershire between 1936 and 1938. Playing as an amateur, he had little success making 252 runs in 18 innings in 1936. He turned out infrequently thereafter, leading the side in the absence of Charles Lyttleton. In 1938 he made a career-best 60 not out against Nottinghamshire batting at No. 9. Evers played rugby for Moseley as a scrum-half and was also Worcestershire squash champion three times. He served with the RAF and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in World War Two.
