Paddy Waldron was an opening batsman who played for Ireland immediately after World War Two with limited success. He made his debut in the annual match against Scotland in 1946, making his best score of 32, and turned out in the fixture the following year as well as taking part on the short tour of England. At the time of his death he was believed to be Ireland's oldest surviving first-class cricketer. A barrister, he was a member of the Merrion Cricket Club.
