Scorecard and ball-by-ball details
Darren Bravo and Dwayne Bravo produced career-best performances to put Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel in the second semi-final with a 27-run win against Jamaica Tallawahs in Port-of-Spain. Darren extended his fine form with a stroke-filled 63-ball 86, which included four fours and six sixes, to lift Red Steel to 152 after a shaky start. Dwayne, then, picked up figures of 5 for 23 to help bowl Tallawahs out for 125.
Tallawahs had the game within their grasp after a strong start but imploded, losing their last eight wickets for only 28 runs. Dwayne initiated the collapse with the wicket of Jermaine Blackwood for 23, and then dismissed Andre Russell in his next over. However, he made the biggest impact in his last over - the 18th of the innings - as Tallawahs went from 117 for 6 to 122 for 9. Kevon Cooper, too, chipped in with two wickets in a space of three balls in the 17th over. Chris Gayle (30), Chadwick Walton (31) and Mahela Jayawardena (16) got going at the top, but Tallawahs middle order buckled under pressure.
After choosing to bat, Red Steel lost their openers - Cameron Delport and Jacques Kallis - inside the first two overs before Kamran Akmal was undone in the fourth over. However, Darren and Jason Mohammed (28) - the only batsmen to reach double figures in the innings - repaired the innings and later consolidated with a 80-run fourth-wicket partnership. At the 10-over mark, Red Steel were 58 for 3 but Darren's late surge carried Red Steel past 150.
