All-round Davey crushes Afghanistan

A six-wicket haul from the fast bowler Josh Davey helped bundle Afghanistan out for 63 and set up Scotland's 150-run win in Abu Dhabi

Scotland 213 for 7 (Berrington 62, Davey 53*, Alam 3-48) beat Afghanistan 63 (Ghani 25, Davey 6-28, Wardlaw 4-22) by 150 runs
Scorecard
A six-wicket haul from the fast bowler Josh Davey helped bundle Afghanistan out for 63 and set up Scotland's 150-run win in Abu Dhabi. The spell marked a fine all-round display for Davey, who had earlier scored an unbeaten 48-ball 53 to give his team a late surge in the first innings.
Set 214 for victory, Afghanistan raced to 38 inside seven overs, but once their openers Javed Ahmadi and Usman Ghani fell in the space of five deliveries, the team completely lost their way. Apart from Samiullah Shenwari, who made 10, none of the final nine batsmen could contribute more than two runs, as Davey and Iain Wardlaw slit through their line-up. Five Afghanistan batsmen were dismissed for ducks, as the team could manage just seven boundaries in total. Davey was named Man of the Match for his 6 for 28, while his new-ball partner Wardlaw fetched returns of 6-2-22-4.
Earlier, Scotland, opting to bat, posted 213 for 7 from their 50 overs. Their innings was built around a 99-run, seventh-wicket stand between Richie Berrington (62) and Davey, which helped them recover from a shaky start. Aftab Alam was the pick of Afghanistan's bowlers, collecting 3 for 48.
