Scorecard
England A recorded their second win over Bangladesh A with another convincing performance Mirpur thanks to a fine allround display from Alex Gidman.
Bangladesh, batting first, lost their opening batsman, Mehrab Hossain, for a duck in the first over - trapped lbw by Stuart Broad. Broad removed Junaid Siddique, too, four overs later, leaving Bangladesh struggling on 10 for 2. Not to be outdone Nazimuddin and Tushar Imran, his captain, put on 95 for the third wicket with Nazimuddin cracking nine fours in his boisterous 58 before Alex Gidman struck.
Gidman proceeded to run through their middle-order, as Nadif Chowdhury was caught behind; Saghir Hossain trapped in front and Farhad Reza also caught by the wicketkeeper, leaving Bangladesh's hopes in tatters.
However, like Bangladesh, England also lost a wicket with the third ball of their innings when Michael Carberry was trapped leg-before by Dolar Mahmud. Will Jefferson made amends with a brutal 34-ball and Nick Compton struck a more cautious, measured 64 as England reached their target inside 36 overs. Fittingly, Gidman was there unbeaten on 21 to complete an impressive allround performance.
