5.30pm: The party has started in Antigua, with England's new-look side already anticipating a hangover. You can read all about it as soon as Vish Ehantharajah's match report gets updated, and there'll be more from the ground via Cam Ponsonby. Don't even think about scheduling something in your diary for Wednesday, when we'll do it all again at the Sir Viv. Cheerio!

5.20pm: Time to hear from the presentations, starting with Jos Buttler: "Fantastic game of cricket. Credit to Shai Hope. We asked a lot of questions and they played really well at the back end to chase those down. [Posted 325] Thought it was fantastic batting effort. Loved the intent, set the tone at the top. They pegged us back at bit, we found the wicket a bit tricky, and it needed a fantastic effort to chase them down. [Personal form] You always want to play well, keep working hard and trust it will come back. Brilliant game, credit to Shai and Romario, some fantastic sixes and we'll learn a lot. Thought Rehan bowled really well and there was a lot to be proud of. Some things we can do better moving on to the next one."

West Indies captain Shai Hope is Player of the Match for his unbeaten 109 from 83: "As you say, in a winning cause, that's all I play for. Talking to MS Dhoni, he said 'you always have a lot more time than you think'. Played a lot of ODI cricket, always back myself to win in any position. [Shepherd] He was amazing, one of those guys you can depend on. We got the win, want to continue the series on a high. [Bowling effort] Their openers played really well, any time we were off line they scored boundaries. We had a few dropped catches, so we've got things to improve. We want to be playing against the best. [Opening stand] Like to see those batters take responsibility. About how they can continue from this position."

5.10pm: Whoosh! Who saw that coming? Shai Hope gives West Indies hope, something to smile about today and something to build on for the future. That is West Indies' second-highest successful chase in ODIs - and the highest by any team at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Sam Curran, meanwhile, finishes with an unwanted record: most runs conceded by an Englishman in an ODI innings, narrowly saved the ignominy of bringing up his own ton. It might be a series lacking something in the way of context, but it's been given a proper kick up the backside here. West Indies 1-0 up with two to play, and England's new era looking much like the old one

Here's Sampath again with some more stats magic - Most target runs successfully chased down in the last ten overs (41-50) of a men's ODI: (where we have BBB):

109 - PAK vs BAN, 2014 Mirpur

106 - WI vs ENG, 2023 Antigua

101 - NZ vs AUS, 2005 Christchurch

101 - NZ vs IRE, 2022 Dublin

100 - IND vs WI, 2022 Port of Spain

Sam Curran to Hope, SIX runs

FINISHES HIM! Hope pulls out the Mortal Kombat moves and West Indies are home! The ball was short and cuffed unceremoniously over the leg side once again. Hope punches the air in celebration, a brilliant captain's knock and his side take the spoils. England lost their ODI crown a couple of weeks ago and are back on the ropes again

Sam Curran to Hope, SIX runs

goes to his hundred with another brutal blow! Length ball, he steps into it and creams six more over deep midwicket. The crowd are getting in the mood as the skipper goes to three figures, and victory moves within sight

Sam Curran to Hope, no run

fired full and wide, Hope falls over while trying to hit the cover off! Dot ball

Hope also within a shot of his hundred

Sam Curran to Hope, SIX runs

another full toss goes the journey! Hope stands tall and whacks a thigh-high meatball over wide long-on. Sails for a 93m six and that might be the final nail in this England defence

Doosra: "Good old Forecaster! About as useful as a chocolate fire-guard!!" The more you sledge them, the wilder their predictions become...

hard length, 142kph/88mph and Hope jabs it away to leg. Atkinson hares after the ball to secure a dot and keep Joseph on strike for the penultimate over

Atkinson to Alzarri Joseph, 1 run

back of a length, 135kph/84mph and dropped into the covers. Hope scampers down to take the strike

Is there another twist? Alzarri Joseph, the WI vice-captain, joins his skipper in the middle. He can hit a long ball, if needed

Atkinson to Shepherd, OUT

full and straight, and up goes the finger! Shephard reviews but is already walking off. He stepped to leg and heaved across the line, only to be smashed on the knee roll. Hawk-Eye has it bulldozing leg stump and Shepherd was well beyond the boundary ropes by the time umpire Brathwaite raises his finger for a second time

Ah, here we go - UltraEdge shows there was some glove on that shot from Shepherd, although it bounced through to Buttler. So it couldn't be out, but he was right to argue it shouldn't have been a wide

slower bouncer, sliding down the leg side. Shepherd was in position to try to smash it for a boundary but can't connect... Buttler then signals for a review, seemingly because he disagrees with the wide call. In the end, after a chat between Buttler, Brathwaite and Brown, we will continue
