Daredevils vs RR, 29th match at Delhi, IPL, Mar 31 2010 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Thanks for joining us and sending us your feedback. It's been a pleasure bringing you the commentary for this game, and don't forget to tune in for the game tomorrow. Until then, on behalf of Venkat Raghav on the scoring desk, this is Sid Talya signing off. Adios.
Karthik is the Man of the Match: "It was good to get some runs under my belt. We were looking at a target of 165, and batting until the 15th over so that the people who came in later would have the freedom to play their shots. The 15th over was the marker, and we kept attacking from then on. It was a pleasure to keep to Mishra and Ladda is doing very well as well. "
Gambhir: "Only Yusuf Pathan was the danger man, we weren't really worried about anyone else. We have a lot of depth in our batting. It went according to plan. I was thinking to spend more time at the crease, we had overs left so that set a nice platform for me. We are peaking at the right time. We need to keep playing well."
Warne: "The first 15 or so overs we had the game under control. Karthik played an excellent innings. When you bowl first and have those bad five or so overs at the end, the opposition has the momentum when they bowl. We didn't execute our skills well. Maharoof bowled a very good first over. We sort of panicked a bit, and hopefully we'll bounce back in the next game. We talked about Yusuf even opening the batting before the game, but Naman Ojha has been very good up the order. We just wanted to consolidate after those two early wickets."
A comprehensive defeat for Rajasthan, ending their four-match winning streak. Delhi have taken second place in the points table, behind Mumbai Indians. The game was in Rajasthan's favour with the hosts 67 for 4 at one stage. But Karthik and Gambhir led the resurgence and the bowlers followed that up with a clinical display. Maharoof's double-strike in the first over and Mishra's wicket of Yousuf were the telling blows in the Rajasthan innings. Join us in a bit for the presentation.
