Presentation

Gilchrist: Losing those wickets was the turning point, looked good to get to 140 then we lost four wickets for nothing. It's about getting the consistency, the bowlers are doing a good job but the batsmen keep letting them down.

White: We like the close games, don't we? 140 was always going to be tough chase as Adam said. Vihari's had a nice tournament so far which is a good thing about the IPL, allowing youngsters to perform. The bowlers are doing a good job, Mishy, Ishant, Dale, Karan. Takes a bit of skill to hit those sixes.

Vihari gets the man of the match award: Very happy with the performance, most importantly, the team won. I don't mind bowling just one over, important to bowl it well. For this wicket, the target was very suitable for, sad that I couldn't see it through.

**********

Till the 18th over, it looked even-stevens. Then came Perera and scored 18 off his own bat with three sixes punctuating that over. A very disappointing over from Mahmood who kept bowling length balls and Perera kept banishing 'em from his site, what a player!

That takes Hyderabad to 10 points which is two more than the next best in the table. Of course, they have played seven games but it only means that the pressure on the top-four teams from the previous couple of seasons has increase manifold thanks to Hyderabad and Rajasthan.

**********

Harsha: "Someone had said at the end of first match of HSR that we need to take screenshot since Hyd was on top of the table. I have been taking plenty of screenshots since, Hyd has always been in top 5. Top performance !" Their story reminds me of the Rajasthan one from 2008. Touch wood!

Aditya M: "The homeground jinx has been officially lifted off the Hyderabad team with this win. Three wins in a row."

Major Hammad: "Thisara Parera now top scorer and highest wicket taker for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season so for." Whatever happened to Mishra?

Mahmood to Perera, SIX runs

you got to be kidding me, what a way to end the game, third six in a row to make it five wins in seven games and catapult to the top of the points table!

18.4
6
Mahmood to Perera, SIX runs

gone again and that's one of the biggest sixes you would see on a track like this, it was on a length and it's been cracked over the mid-wicket region for a six! what a shot!

18.3
1
Mahmood to Ashish, 1 run

slower ball but very full, almost an attempted leg-spinner, driven down the ground for a single

18.2
1
Mahmood to Perera, 1 run

and again, was looking to explode over the bowler's head but this time he is almost beaten, over the bowler's head for a single

18.2
1w
Mahmood to Perera, 1 wide

bouncer from Mahmood and he was looking to duck, called a wide and Gilly is not happy! talking to the umpire too but he isn't going to change that!

18.1
6
Mahmood to Perera, SIX runs

gone for a six! fuller from him and Perera has opened his stance and knocked it over the long-on region for a six! that's a deal-clincher!

That four helps, the equation was getting to be very tough otherwise. 18 off 12 is a couple of blows away. Then again, it's a couple of wickets away too.

Gony to Ashish, no run

slower one from Gony and he has to check his stroke there, taps it back to the bowler

17.5
4
Gony to Ashish, FOUR runs

short of length and was looking to hook it away, dragged it a little because of the pace but in the end it beats the long-on fielder, Chawla and it eludes him well enough to get him a four!

17.4
Gony to Ashish, no run

smashed and what a shot, but not for a run! it was hit hard down to mid-on and a yard either side would have gone through to the fence, goes to hand and Hussey throws it to the non-striker's end, hits the stumps too but Perera is back home

17.3
1
Gony to Perera, 1 run

looks to hoick it away over mid-wicket, one of his favourite, clear-his-foot-and-hit stroke, gets only an inside edge

17.2
1
Gony to Ashish, 1 run

looks to play it through the leg side but gets only an inside edge on to his pads and it rolls over to the on side for a single

Lot of variable bounce there.

17.1
1
Gony to Perera, 1 run

short of length and there was extra bounce on that one, beats the cut stroke that he was attempting, outside edge goes down to third-man

Mahmood to Ashish, no run

he was swinging that like it was a game of golf, misses it by a mile too and through to the keeper, 25 needed from the last three overs

16.5
1
Mahmood to Perera, 1 run

slower on the off stump and driven down the ground for a single, well bowled this

16.4
Mahmood to Perera, no run

122.5 km/hr but cramping the batsmen for room, he is only able to tap it away to the off side, not for runs though

16.3
Mahmood to Perera, no run

fullish outside the off and he looks to drive it through the covers, the ball does not quite come on to the bat and goes to the short cover fielder

It was hitting outside the line of the off stump, that Samantray wicket

16.2
1
Mahmood to Ashish, 1 run

fuller on the middle stump and he's able to flick it away to fine-leg for a single

Mahmood to Samantray, OUT

appeal for an lbw and given! was looking to play it through the leg side, missed and hits the back pad, still to ascertain whether it was hitting outside the off stump but otherwise looks close enough

and another one that keeps low and beats the batsman, beats the keeper, beats the stumps and then the fielder at fine-leg, four byes to help take some pressure off!

15.5
1
Gony to Samantray, 1 run

fuller and slower, well thought by the bowler, he plays it well too, opens the face of the bat down to third-man for a single

Prashant: "@Diwan, Yes, I'm surprised no team wanted to use Green color or Black or Orange. Everyone wanted Blue, that's too cliche. I really love the BBL team jersey colors. They are vibrant!"

sagar: "@divan : seriously Sun risers should have at least consulted shrikhanth before changing uniform of chargers from last season..it seems like there is no difference in dirty cloth dipped in a mud an their uniform"
