lobbed to the keeper off the leading edge. Slower ball at a length just outside off, he looks to play the reverse sweep and can't get it away. That is a bonus point win for Jozi Stars
Stars vs Blitz, 20th Match at Cape Town, MSL 2018, Dec 04 2018 - Match Result
10:34pm And that is all we have for you tonight. Thanks for joining in!
Vilas: Very happy with how the guys are playing. We've been playing well the whole tournament really, but to get the batting and bowling going together is good now. We're very fortunate with the guys we have, they're aware of their roles. It's hard to get into the side at the moment, but we like it that. [Bonus point] is huge at the moment, especially against such a good side.
Behardien: We'd done really well up until 10 overs. There was a dropped catch there. A lot of their batsmen came and started scoring right up front. I don't want to take any credit away from them. The wicket got quicker and it suited their bowlers, KG and Duanne.
Hendricks: I don't really know what to say anymore. I'm really happy we got the win today. We obviously had a slow starr, but the guys at the back end finished it off nicely for us. The batting unit has to set it up for the bowling unit, and last few games we've been doing that. I'm taking it as it comes, not thinking about the South Africa World Cup prospects, because that's a different format.
Reeza Hendricks is the Man of the Match.
10:21pm Jozi Stars now second on the table. Cape Town Blitz have had a second collective failure with the bat. Got away with their bowling last time and QDK's incredible hundred, but it won't be the case this time. Jozi Stars found heroes in all departments, and it is a well deserved bonus point, considering they only had 64 after ten overs in their batting innings. A 50-run win is massive.
full toss wide outside off, backs into the leg side and chops at it. Thick outside edge past the keeper and to the third man boundary
slower ball at a length outside off, chops to backward point
slower ball at a length, just outside off. Pokes at it and is beaten on the outside edge
full and just outside off. Backs away and slices to point
Goes around the wicket
full and down leg side. Can't get bat on the flick, and he won't be a hat-trick victim either
Now, Olivier with a chance at a hat-trick
what a sight! Middle stump is absolutely smashed. It's a yorker, Steyn backs away to try and hit through the off side, but doesn't get any bat on that.
fine leg runs in and takes this. Another superbly directed bouncer from Olivier. Climbs up at the throat and he's trying to get out of the way and hook at the same time. Top edge hangs up to fine leg's left and he takes it low
17 off 9 is the equation for Jozi Stars, who are now chasing a bonus point
yorker just outside off, backs away and throws the bat at it. And like it has all evening, it comes off for Verreynne. Thick outside edge races past the keeper and into the third man boundary
yorker at leg stump, jammed to deep square's left
overpitched on leg stump, gets the front leg out of the way and heaves. Gets it off the middle, between deep midwicket and long-on
nearly gets him! What a ball that is! A legcutter, rises above eye level and has Steyn hopping before it dips and narrowly misses off stump on the full
straight to extra cover. Full slower ball just outside off. Loops up into his driving area but he's done by pace. Chips it straight to the fielder and Christian is on a hat-trick
full on off stump, gets the front leg into the leg side and lofts this inside-out. Long-off moves a couple of yards to his right and holds on
legcutter at a length outside off. Wants to pummel this through cover, gets an inside edge to long-on
slower yorker wide outside off, sliced to point's left
slower ball at a length and very wide outside off. Left alone
slower short ball climbing up outside off. Looks for the upper cut and is beaten
short of a length outside off, backs away and heaves at it to go over mid-off. Gets it off the bottom part of that bat again and barely clears the man
another top edge and this one dips onto to the boundary padding on the full. Length ball at middle stump, stays tall and swipes at it and is rewarded for his perseverance
