2.45pm: It was closer than it looked like being but Northants have closed out the victory, they go into the final as Notts' hopes of a first T20 title are extinguished. If Andre Russell hadn't been snuffed out by Rob Keogh's blinding boundary catch, things could very well have been different... Both teams were 15 for 3 but, in the end, it was Ben Duckett's heroics that carried the day for Northants, against a side they had never previously beaten in T20. I suspect he will be Man of the Match. Anyway, we're going to have a quick breather, then head over to the second semi-final between Durham and Yorkshire to see who Northants will take on.

19.6
Azharullah to Ball, no run

superb death bowling, right up in the blockhole, Ball digs it out and Northants win by eight runs to take their place in the final once again!

19.5
1
Azharullah to Gurney, 1 run

can't get this away, pitched up and drilled into the covers for one. Azharullah celebrates - just needs to avoid any extra now

Still two big blows needed...

19.4
4
Azharullah to Gurney, FOUR runs

inside-edged for four! Fullish delivery from Azharullah, big swing and he gets lucky, but they all count

What can new publican Harry Gurney do? "He needs a full-pint over midwicket," chirps Gnasher

19.3
1
Azharullah to Ball, 1 run

pitched up, 80mph in the channel, clubbed along the carpet to mid-off - just a single

19.2
Azharullah to Ball, no run

goes full and straight this time, driven into the ground, straight back to the bowler

19.1
Azharullah to Ball, no run

full outside off, Ball leathers a drive but picks out extra cover

Azharullah will bowl the final over. Think Northants have got them in on time... Fifteen needed, a lot for the last-wicket pair to do

end of over 196 runs • 1 wicket

18.6
Sanderson to Gurney, no run

slower ball, bounces over the stumps, another big yahoo that fails to connect - two dots to finish a huge penultimate over from Sanderson

18.5
Sanderson to Gurney, no run

good length, flies through outside off as Gurney swings and misses

Nine down, 15 required... In comes Harry Gurney

18.4
W
Sanderson to Broad, OUT

goes round the wicket, dug in short, Broad swipes - and top-edges to the keeper!

Stuart Broad c †Rossington b Sanderson 11 (11b 1x4 0x6 18m) SR: 100

And now a minute goes back on the clock, since Broad asked for fresh gloves

18.3
1
Sanderson to Ball, 1 run

short outside off, sliced through gully for one to third man

Two minutes or so... Ball scratches his mark

18.2
1
Sanderson to Broad, 1 run

on the stumps, flapped into the leg side for one

18.1
4
Sanderson to Broad, FOUR runs

starts on a length outside off, Broad slaps and slaps hard, in the air but wide of the diving Kleinveldt at mid-off, that will run away for four more!

Ben Sanderson to bowl, Northants need to start the final over in four minutes' time, I think. Notts need 21 off 12

Crook to Read, OUT

full on the stumps, chipped down the ground... and picks out long-on! Big wicket for Northants, Read falls with the target coming back into range!

Chris Read c White b Crook 30 (20b 4x4 0x6 20m) SR: 150
17.5
Crook to Read, no run

another cutter, can't get this one away

They've had a few lives but this partnership is dragging Notts back into it..

17.4
4
Crook to Read, FOUR runs

short outside off, Read sits back and slashes through backward point, firmly struck and that goes to the rope, too!

17.3
2
Crook to Read, 2 runs

comes forward, drives in front of deep cover, easy two there

17.2
4
Crook to Read, FOUR runs

length on the stumps, Read swings across the line, top-edges over short fine leg - and that runs away for four!

17.1
2
Crook to Read, 2 runs

slower ball, worked into the leg side and they come back for two, not a great throw

Northants are having to hurry to get through their overs here - the clock is ticking and they do not want a six-run penalty if things get close

slashes outside off, thick outside edge and it's dropped in the gully this time, Levi backpedalling!

1lb
Kleinveldt to Read, 1 leg bye

on the stumps, another big swing and a miss, comes off the body for a leg bye
