The captains come together to shake hands in front of the series trophy. No champagne today for anyone, well not in terms of the series but I'm sure the New Zealanders will enjoy a drink or two for a fine victory here. We switch formats next week to the 50-over game, a five-match ODI series gets underway on June 9 and we also have a T20 to slip in before the Kiwis go home. A short and sweet Test series but it has been superb entertainment and we can hope for more in the ODIs, from Monty, Gnasher and myself Alex Winter, it's goodbye for now...

Time for the presentation...All and sundry collecting their medals. Man of the Match goes to Bj Watling for his century, the first by a New Zealander at Headingley. It turned out to be a match-winning knock too. "It's been a good test for the boys and a great win. Martin and Ross put the pressure back on England, got us back on top and we kicked on from there. To get a century was very pleasing. I thought I was in a bit of trouble not being able to keep but I was glad to have the chance to just bat and field. Plus Luke Ronchi had a fine debut, the catch today off Kane was an important moment in the match."

England Player of the Series nominated by Mike Hesson, goes to Alastair Cook, for his fine form in this series, topping the run-scoring. The New Zealand equivalent, nominated by Paul Farbrace, goes to Trent Boult for his 13 wickets in the series, joint top with Stuart Broad, which is slightly hard to believe. "Very special victory here to turn it around from Lord's. We took a lot of positives from there. The batters played tremendously well here and we got it in the right areas with the ball. The conditions helped too. I was confident the work I'd done in the IPL would help me here and it's proved correct. I prefer bowling to left-handers and Tim lines up the right handers so it worked well."

Cook's thoughts: "It was disappointing today, At half-way we were right in the game and we created opportunities, every time we had a chance they took the game away from us with positive batting. Adam Lyth has looked solid at the top of the order and Ben Stokes has taken great strides, played nicely at Lord's and here today too. Mark Wood has also added fire to our attack. When you're not on your A-game you get found out. the batters who have struggled have had a tough couple of games, that's how Test cricket works. We've got five weeks away now to work on our games and come back in Cardiff ready to build good totals. It's been a challenge against their bowling attack but I'm pleased to score some runs. You need to judge well outside off and I've managed to do that which is nice. Our batting has looked good. We could have batted out the day today but those four early wickets hurt us."

Here's Brendon McCullum: "It's been an excellent five days to bounce back from Lord's. We played here to force the pace and we did that, we played aggressive to win and the boys managed to do that. Right throughout the series our slips catching was excellent. Even when we behind the games we fielded very well. It's not easy to bounce back having lost having played pretty well. They dominated for periods but we had to hang in and the ability to bowl last on what I thought was a very good cricket wicket was a great asset. The series was played in tremendous spirit. 1-1 is a great result it's just a shame we haven't got another one or two Tests! Kane has played a crucial role for us today, he was a bit of a gamble and it worked. BJ Watling was just outstanding and even though he had the injury we wanted to play him, he's a guy you can build your team around."

For England they couldn't back up a wonderful victory at Lord's with a similar performance here. The lost the game in the field really, they lost their way too often with the ball, particularly against the tail, and the catching generally was terrible and dropped chances cost them any chance of a manageable target in this game. Plenty of potential in this side but plenty of questions to ask too at the moment with the Ashes coming up in just over a month's time. At least they have a captain back in great form, Alastair Cook's runs will be needed if England have any chance of regaining the Ashes.

New Zealand wrapping things up comfortably and take victory to level the series at 1-1. They have pretty much dominated this game through their aggressive batting that first saw a rapid first-innings recovery having initially been in trouble and then taking the game completely away from England in the second innings. Added to that has been their aggression with the ball, storming back with the second new ball in that first innings and then today probing away to take regular scalps and never being in any trouble of not polishing things off. Even with all the rain yesterday, New Zealand have won comfortable.

Craig to Buttler, OUT

length aorund off stump, left alone, oh dear it's the arm ball and given out lbw! That will do it. Buttler may as well review but this looks dead and indeed Hawk Eye has it going on to hit off stump. A smart bit of bowling finishes the job. He turned two down the leg side, Buttler shouldering arms thinking this would do the same but it goes on straight with the arm and caught Buttler out
