Agar misses ton in high-scoring contest

Scorecard
Ashton Agar knows a thing or two about falling short of triple figures and again he was unable to breach the milestone as he made 93 for Western Australia on their second day against South Australia at Adelaide Oval. In a high-scoring contest, the Redbacks had motored along to 0 for 148 at the close of play, with Michael Klinger on 76 and Phillip Hughes on 63, and they trailled Western Australia by 286 runs.
Earlier, the Warriors had added 165 to their overnight total for the loss of their last four wickets, valuable runs in what may well prove a battle for first-innings points only. Agar and Sam Whiteman put on 147 for the seventh wicket before Whiteman was caught behind off the bowling of Trent Lawford for 65, but there were further lower-order runs still to come for the Warriors.
Agar, who is still searching for his maiden first-class hundred after falling for 98 on his Test debut during this year's Ashes series in England, reached 93 before he was caught behind down leg side off the bowling of Lawford. Nathan Coulter-Nile added a quick 41 from 27 deliveries and Nathan Rimmington scored a run-a-ball 26 before Western Australia were dismissed for 434.
