6.41pm SL were in with more than a chance for much of the game, but that is precisely the reason chasing totals close to 300 are never easy. They turn and twist late as it did today. SL got off to a horror start, losing three wickets relatively easy which could have been the turning point in the match. Mathews and Chandimal brought them back into the game with fine fifties, and Mathews was there till the very end. Till he was there, it looked like SL were always in the contest. However, once he holed out for a splendid 95, and with wickets falling all too regularly, it got harder and harder. Eventually, NZ closed out the series with a 3-1 scoreline after a 36-run win here. Matt Henry was the most influential, not only today, but throughout the series, taking 13 wickets. His five-for today went some way in securing his side's win today too.

Matt Henry is the Man of the Match

Boult to Kulasekara, OUT

Santner takes the catch as NZ close out the series 3-1. Low full toss outside off, Kulasekara goes for a lofted drive but skies it up without timing, Santner runs back from cover and takes the catch.

bowled im. Could that be the final nail in SL's coffin? Slower ball outside off and draws the third consecutive inside edge. this time it smashes into the stumps and Henry has a much deserved five-for.

taken. Henry Nicholls has taken another pressure catch. Mathews perishes, how big is that? Short ball on off, Mathews executes a lovely pull but just did not get as much as he would have wanted. It travels high in the air and Nicholls settles himself at the square leg boundary, takes a catch over his head. Would have gone for six had he not got a hand on it. The bat face just turned in his hands

Sodhi to Kulasekara, SIX runs

six. Kulasekara finds the boundary. Precisely what SL needed to finish that over. Slog-swept on one bent knee, just clears long-on. Did not seem like he got it but Boult could not leap over the boundary to throw it back in

44.5
1
Sodhi to Angelo Mathews, 1 run

flat on leg, darted in. Whipped to deep midwicket

44.4
2
Sodhi to Angelo Mathews, 2 runs

another reverse sweep. Gets down and pummels it, cleared up by the sweeper cover

44.3
1
Sodhi to Kulasekara, 1 run

that was very clever bowling, saw Kulasekara coming and bowled it slow and short outside off, Kula adjusts well and plays it towards cover

44.2
Sodhi to Kulasekara, no run

reverse lap attempted. Overpitched outside off, and he misses. Big dot

44.1
Sodhi to Kulasekara, no run

flat outside off, Kulasekara goes for the slog sweep but misses

Sodhi, another big call.

Kadin: "Mathews being on 90 may help our cause. Batsman seem to get a bit more cautious as they near their century in my experience - might slow the rate!" -- Mathews cannot be bothered by that with a match to be won
