Scorecard
Monsoon rains first shortened the second one-dayer between Sri Lanka A and West Indies A in Dambulla to a 38-over match, before returning in the afternoon to wash the game out, 2.1 overs into the second innings. Earlier, Sri Lanka A seamers had shared seven wickets between them, dismissing West Indies A for 193 in 37 overs.
Right-armer Nisala Tharaka returned the best figures for the hosts, taking 3 for 36, including the wicket of top-scorer Kraigg Brathwaite, who hit 63 from 87. Tharaka and new-ball partner Farveez Maharoof had removed two batsmen by the fifth over, before Kraigg Brathwaite and Jonathan Carter put on a 68-run stand for the third wicket, which was to be the most stable period of West Indies A's innings.
Following their dismissals, Carlos Brathwaite slammed an 18-ball 39 towards the back of the innings, before becoming Maharoof's second wicket. He delivered his full quota of eight overs for 22 runs, while right-armer Dushmantha Chameera and legspinner Jeevan Mendis also claimed two scalps apiece.
Sri Lanka A had made eight runs in the first two overs before Dimuth Karunaratne was run out on the first ball of the third over. The rains returned just as captain Lahiru Thirimanne was walking to the crease, and did not ease enough to allow further play.
